GLHS brings together people with an interest in history and the impact the past has on the present, especially in North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders – although on occasion our speakers range over a wider area.
About the Society
Where and when are meetings held?
A programme of talks runs from September to April, normally at the Cheviot Centre, Padgepool Place, Wooler on the second Wednesday of the month. There are usually 2 outings each season.
Please join us for tea/coffee & biscuits from 7pm, before the talk starts at 7.30.Meetings usually finish by 9pm.
How do I join?
Just come along to a meeting and pay at the door. The membership fee for the season is £8. This covers all the talks during the season. Trips may incur an extra charge. Visitors are welcome at £3 per talk.
